The time is now, join us on a life-changing expedition to discover this Ancient Medicine in its homelands...
“AcuVietnam was launched to build a bridge between Vietnamese Traditional Medicine and TCM practitioners from the West. To create the type of in-depth program, I wish had been available to me as a TCM graduate.

I feel deeply privileged to have such medical expertise and incredible healers working together on our program. Our team is so diverse, with a wealth of experience with some nearly 90 years of age. Whilst I could be called biased, I truly recommend any practitioner of TCM; with a wish to enhance not only their skills and healing ability, but also their life - you are very welcome!”

Tara O’Connell
Founder - AcuVietnam

Lic.Acupuncturist. Lic.Naturopath.
Traditional Medicine Practitioner. NADA reg.

Originally from the beautiful city of Kilkenny, Ireland, Tara spent more than 15-years working in Sales, Marketing & Product development in Tourism, strongly focused on the Asian and African markets; areas of the world she loved to explore, and integrate herself into understanding these fascinating cultures.

Many years ago, at a crossroads in her life - time for a new direction, searching for something to realign her soul, ignite a passion,  along with a strong desire to help others, Traditional Medicine and Natural therapy’s had always fascinated her. Returning to study, she spent the next 4-years studying in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Naturopathy. Changing the course of her life, she set off on a new, inspiring path that continuously blows her mind even today.

A Licensed international Practitioner of TCM and a Naturopath, Tara worked first-hand in the leading Traditional Medicine Hospital in Vietnam as a Post-graduate placement. Having witnessed the importance of sharing this unique and invaluable hands-on opportunity with other fellow TCM practitioners, she later returned to Vietnam to spend the next 2 years coordinating a program with a difference - AcuVietnam was born!

Today, following intensive coordination of schedules, to work with incredible experts within the program, AcuVietnam has built a network of strong connections and great friendships. Tara firmly believes we have bought together an astonishing team of Great Masters, doctors and specialists within Traditional Medicine and the Holistic field to create a program like no other in Vietnam, or perhaps in Asia?

Predominantly based in the beautiful old-world city of Hanoi, Vietnam these days, Tara works on-and-off within the leading hospital of Traditional Medicine in Vietnam. She also offers regular free clinics to local people in the city, who are too poor to attend a clinic. When not in Hanoi, Tara can often be found in her beautiful home country of Ireland.

Just recently returning to Hanoi in September 2015, Tara spent the summer months working tirelessly with the survivors of the tragic earthquakes in Nepal with the NGO charity AWB. A truly incredible experience, she teamed up with a convoy of Drs and dentists and personally administered Acupuncture treatments to more than 1000 people throughout the displaced people’s camps, also traveling into the epicenters of the earthquakes, with the ground still moving beneath her and the team.

The acupuncture team achieved some remarkable results; particularly in the areas of PTSD, post-fracture pain and trauma. She also administered Acupuncture to the Allopathic Medical teams on the ground, who lined up daily for treatments to relieve stress levels and the overwhelming workload after the days in the camps – they felt these treatments were the only real opportunity they had to release their grief and exhaustion whilst carrying out their incredible work.

With a firm belief that energy medicine is the medicine of the future, the integration of both allopathic and traditional medicine has never been so necessary. In a world where sickness is increasing, antibiotics are becoming resistant to even basic sickness, it is time these medicines work harmoniously together, side-by-side,  to carve a holistic approach to sickness and disease throughout the world.

An incredible healer and master of the Martial arts, Master Chuong is a special and welcome addition to our program. He gives our students a fresh perspective and insight into the use of mind over matter, incorporating the power of intention and intuition into all treatments to achieve remarkable results.

A visit to a local Cancer clinic nearby, is included in select programs, where they are  achieving spectacular success in the treatment of a wide range of cancers, using unique herbal formulas, but most importantly is the use of a variety of frogs in the treatment of cancer and other popular diseases of today. The clinic's treatments and research is run by an MD, who is also Vietnam's leading pharmacologist and a very wise and highly respected figure in TVM.

Professor Nguyen Tai Thu
Vice President: World Federation of Acupuncture.
CEO: Vietnam Acupuncture Association (VAA).
Founder: Institute of Acupuncture, Hanoi.

An absolute honor for our students, Prof Tai Thu and AcuVietnam have come together, to offer AcuVietnam students an opportunity to witness one of the most incredible acupuncturists of modern day at work. You will witness needling techniques not to be seen anywhere else in the world.

Known locally as 'the doctor of the people', patients often travel 100's of miles just to be treated by the Professor, as he is a very famous figure in Vietnam today.

You will experience him in action in his incredibly busy clinics in both pediatrics and also the adult clinics, treating a wide variety of pathologies where many have been told there is nothing more that can be done for their condition, by their dr or hospital.

This is truly a great honor, at 87 years of age this is the Mother Teresa of the Acupuncture world.
