So long Monkey.... enter the FIRE ROOSTER!

Legend says, when the Lord Buddha summoned all the animals to bid him farewell before he departed this lifetime – ONLY 12 animals showed up.

It was then he decided to name a year after each of the 12 animals based on the order they arrived for his farewell. It is an ancient belief that each of these animals has a profound effect on your life based on the year you were born.

Based upon a 12-year Lunar cycle, unlike that of the west which bases itself on a 12-monthly cycle, Eastern Astrology dates back more than 5000 years. There are 12 Animal signs, and the characteristics of each particular animal gives each sign a set of attributes.

- Here is a brief synopsis we have gathered from the Eastern experts on what you may expect in the year 2017 based on Ancient interpretations...

Rat

1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008.
Character traits: Intuitive, creative, and very generous. However, can be highly judgemental. Very much the opportunist, they do well in entrepreneurial endeavours.

Your 2017: You will enjoy many happy events this year, including financial success. Could be a great time for a career change.

Ox

1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009.
Character traits: Great leaders and loyal friends but can be rather bull-headed too as they feel their way is the only way! Great strength of character.

Your 2017: You will enjoy unexpected success and unforeseen events. Opportunities in academics, travel, romance and career lie ahead.

Tiger

1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010.
Character traits: Sensitive souls, Unpredictable, stubborn & courageous. Rebels-WITH a cause.

Your 2017: Tigers are blessed this year with a special Astra protection in the year ahead. You will not lack for anything, and devoted friends will come to your help in the last minute when required. You must focus on commitments, be careful on impulsive decisions. Opportunities of both Love and travel await.

Rabbit

1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011.
Character traits: A pleasing, friendly personality, compassionate souls – yet rather modest. Great at manifesting prosperity and creating peace.

Your 2017: A difficult year may bring much tension and difficulties in the material side of life and the workplace.
However 2017 is lucky in love.

Dragon

1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012.
Character traits: Quick witted characters, very charming with a passion for life. Dragons can be rather domineering!

Your 2017: Full of positive events and very good for career progression, profitable businesses and relationships. Be mindful of your health, especially reoccurring minor illness!

Snake

1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013.
Character traits: The most psychic of all the signs. Snakes are intelligent, loving and often very private people.

Your 2017: Plan well, and you will stand out professionally and be promoted – plan badly, expect bad luck.
Single snakes, could be the year to find the One.

Horse

1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014.
Character traits: Free spirits, independent, hard-working and a natural born leader.

Your 2017: A good year, with personal and financial achievements, but unbalances and career changes could arise. This can easily make you irritable and mischievous. Love life is good, but be mindful of your health.

Goat

Character traits: Loving and very creative – do not underestimate them, their quiet strength can move mountains.

Your 2017: Expenses run high, too high for what you can save, this could also affect relationships within the family and amongst loved ones who will try and temper you down! Busy socially if single, if not be weary of affairs.

Monkey

1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016.
Character traits: Unwavering confidence, they move fast with word, thought and deed. Great humour, this sign also signifies a great level of intelligence!

Your 2017: A great year lays ahead, with an active social life – time to bring all your ideas together and become more focused.

An especially good year for Monkeys from a romantic viewpoint.

Character traits: Loyalty, commitment and great family values. Love to draw attention to themselves, appearance is important. They are highly  progressive thinkers and doers.

Your 2017: A person born in the year of the Rooster does not actually bode well in the year of the Rooster for it is seen as competition – essentially a cockfight! Fear not, all problems that arise will be solved as you are able to gain support from powerful and influential people. But go carefully, this is your unluckiest year in the 12 year cycle.

Dog

1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006.
Character traits: Trustworthy, deeply loyal and protective of all those they care about. These people put all others needs above themselves.

Your 2017: An average year lies ahead, not bad but be aware of unexpected problems within your health and/or romantic life that may arise. Those born in this year have a tendency to act quickly without thinking things through.
New work relationships will flourish.

Pig

1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007.
Character traits: The Mother Teresa’s of the Zodiac, they display a wonderful generosity and great kindness. You are likely to find these people involved in humanitarian efforts.

Your 2017: Not a great year for this sign, but an improvement on 2016. Fear not as the year comes to close, things will start to look much brighter for you. You will have a busy, but tense year. Maintain patience and tenacity to solve the financial and professional problems that will arise.

Some Tips to start the LUNAR NEW YEAR with luck

DO NOT wash or cut your hair on the 1st day of the New year (28th January 2017). Viewed as washing or cutting your fortune away, and will greatly reduce your chances of prosperity in 2017.

DO NOT buy books for the 1st 15-days after the Lunar new year, this brings bad luck.

DO NOT eat porridge at the start of the Lunar year. For it is seen as a food of the poor, this will bring a poor outlook for the year ahead.

Here you mention about the lunar month and also write the characteristic and specialty that birth in this month. Mine is a monkey and the characteristic of this month is good and feel happy to know that. But on the other site, it is only the words that give you courage.

My 2017 seems to be a rocky road based on what I've just read here. I'm in the year of the Goat and it's true that I'm having a hard time saving right now compared to the past years. I should also be weary of affairs since I'm married. I hope this will not be my problem because I cannot fathom the idea of myself or my man being in someone else's arms. Thanks for the advice.
